Stephen Lawrence Day
Mackintosh is a brand that celebrates the diversity in our society. We believe our country is made better by the many cultures that make Britain Great. When we work together, we can achieve anything.
This year we encourage you to join us in supporting a charity very close to our hearts, The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust. An organisation that is working towards a more inclusive society for all. With the help of artist Trevor Jackson, Mackintosh is producing a commemorative T-Shirt to raise awareness for Stephen Lawrence Day, April 22nd set up to celebrate Stephen’s life.
The T-Shirt features a “LOVE” graphic made up of symbols that promote Peace, Love & Unity. All proceeds are donated to the Stephen Lawrence Trust, an organisation that has been set up in Stephen’s memory and helps young people all across Great Britain turn their goals into realities.
As a young black man with a promising future in architecture ahead of him, Stephen Lawrence was also a talented sportsman, a keen runner and member of the Cambridge Harriers where he competed alongside future Team GB athletes. Our Marketing Director Mat Bickley, Stephens cousin and Ambassador for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust will be running the Virgin 2020 London Marathon to celebrate Stephen’s life and honour his legacy.
Now more than ever, we all need a little faith in humanity. In these difficult times of disharmony, division and now isolation, we wanted to do something positive and show that the lights of human solidarity still burn bright. The Stephen Lawrence Trust is a cause worthy of promotion. Spreading a message of Peace, Love, & Unity in celebration of Stephen’s memory & Britain’s resilience is one which can unite us all.
